The Big (Insurance) Problem of Faulty Buildings - recent publications
Here's the link to an article in today's Globe and Mail which I thought
would be of interest to those recipients of Insurable Interest whose
work or business is impacted by construction deficiency claims and
related insurance issues - especially claims and insurance coverage
under CGL, Wrap Up and E&O policies:

The Globe article addresses building deficiency claims and insurance
coverage, primarily for architects and engineers. Owners, developers,
general contractors, trades and municipalities, however, are also
frequently confronted by these types of disputes, and involved in the
resulting litigation.
These types of claims and issues are discussed, in some detail, in two
recently updated papers on the Insurance page of Clark Wilson LLP's
website.
One is titled "DESIGN PROFESSIONAL'S ERRORS AND OMISSIONS
INSURANCE COVERAGE: A Survey of Canadian Cases Involving
Architects, Engineers and Their Insurers", and focusses on E&O
coverage. The link is:

The other "INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CONSTRUCTION DEFICIENCY
CLAIMS: Lessons From B.C.'s Leaky Condo Wars", and focusses on
CGL/Wrap Up coverage. The link is:

The second paper was co-authored with my partners, Glen Boswall
(rgb@cwilson.com; 604-643-3125) and Nigel Kent (npk@cwilson.com;
604-643-3135), and both are presented by Nigel, Glen and myself,
Neo Tuytel (njt@cwilson.com; 604-643-3180), at seminars from time
to time.
Feel free to contact Glen, Nigel or me, Neo, regarding these or other
matters.
