Amy Mortimore is a partner of the firm and a member of the Estate and Trust Litigation, Wealth Preservation and Construction & Procurement Groups. As such she has experience in a broad range of estate and trust litigation, including wills variation claims, accountings, and committeeship applications. She also has significant experience in builders liens, general construction matters, commercial litigation, and commercial landlord and tenant disputes.

Amy has appeared in all levels of Court in British Columbia, as well as in front of various administrative tribunals. She also has training and experience in mediation.

Amy is the author of the Builders Lien portion of Continuing Legal Education's 2001 to 2004, 2009 and 2010 Annual Practice Updates. She is also a contributing author of CLE's text, British Columbia Estate Planning and Wealth Preservation for the years 2002 to 2010 and the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 updates of the CLE text, British Columbia Probate and Estate Administration Practice Manual. She has presented at numerous CLE and industry seminars on topics ranging from trusts & wills variation claims to builders liens and change orders.

Amy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the University of British Columbia in 1993 and her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria in 1997. She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1998.

Estate & Trust Litigation

Represents parties in Committeeship applications. A recent decision can be found at Vranic (Re), 2007 BCSC 1949.

Represents executors and beneficiaries in accounting and misappropriation claims, parties in Committeeship applications, parties in incapacity claims, and trustees and beneficiaries in claims relating to trusts.

Construction

Represents owners and contractors in Builders Liens claims and developers, owners and contractors on claims for construction deficiencies and delay. A recent decision can be found at Madalena v. Kuun, 2009 BCSC 1597.

Commercial Leases
