Oliver Hanson is an associate with the firm's Business Litigation, Construction & Procurement and Insurance Groups.
He has a diversified advocacy practice and has experience handling complex legal matters, including contractual disputes, construction and builders' lien claims and claims for professional negligence. He also has experience in insurance defence, including claims involving product liability, life and disability, and personal injury. He has appeared before the Federal Court, the British Columbia Supreme Court and at all levels of courts in the Province of Alberta.
Oliver received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University in 2001 and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 2004. Oliver was called to the Alberta Bar in 2005 and the Bar of British Columbia in 2010.

Defended a conglomerate of liquor stores and its majority shareholder in a claim for oppression and breach of fiduciary duty.
Represented a minority shareholder in a dispute over the extraordinary sale of company assets.
Represented a shopping centre owner in an environmental contamination claim against a former restaurant tenant.
Assisted an industrial land owner in the termination of an Uranium Extraction Agreement, and the reclamation and decommission of a nuclear facility.
Construction Law
Assisted owners, general contractors and sub-trades with various construction related issues and claims, including builders' lien claims, delay, productivity and acceleration claims, deficiency claims, professional negligence claims and condominium disputes.
Insurance Litigation
Represented an insurer and the manufacturer of an oilfield winch truck involved in a single car collision causing catastrophic injuries.
Defended an insurance company in a claim for short and long term disability benefits arising from the alleged breach of a union sponsored disability plan.
Acted for a life insurer in defence of a claim for death benefits and associated bad faith claims.
Acted for a variety of insurance companies in defence of claims for personal injuries arising from motor vehicle collisions, slip and falls and pedestrian accidents.
