Defended an insurer in a vanishing premium class action. Defending a foreign manufacturer in a polybutylene plumbing class action. Defended a foreign manufacturer in a vitamin conspiracy class action involving allegations of breach of the Competition Act. ProfileDerek Mullan, QC is a senior partner of Clark Wilson LLP, and a member of its Construction Law, Insurance Litigation, Personal Injury and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Groups. He graduated from the University of Toronto in engineering and practised for two years as an engineer. In 1967 he obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and moved to BC. He articled with Clark Wilson LLP and was called to the BC Bar in 1968. In 1989 he was appointed Queen’s Counsel by the Federal Minister of Justice. Mr. Mullan has extensive appeal experience in class actions, pension, expropriation, construction and products liability litigation. He has also served as a sole arbitrator in a number of multi-million dollar construction disputes.
