Profile

Shauna Towriss is an associate with Clark Wilson LLP's Commercial Real Estate, Corporate & Commercial, Mergers & Acquisitions and Energy & Natural Resources Practice Groups.

Shauna received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Philosophy from Simon Fraser University in 2001 and following graduation from SFU participated in the six-month BC Legislative Internship Programme.

She obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. While studying law at UBC, Shauna received the Jennifer Forest Cadham Memorial Award and the Panvini Scholarship in Law. In her final year of law school, Shauna won first prize in the Insolvency Institute of Canada's Law Student Writing Awards Program.

From 2005-2006, Shauna was employed as a Judicial Law Clerk at the BC Court of Appeal, assisting judges with legal research both before and after a case was heard. In February 2006 Shauna was awarded the First Annual Lloyd Houlden Research Fellowship from the Canadian Insolvency Foundation and was honoured to be presented the fellowship by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, Madam Justice Beverly McLachlin.

Shauna was employed with Clark Wilson as a summer articled student in 2004 and she returned to Clark Wilson for her full articles in July 2006. Shauna was called to the Bar of British Columbia in November 2006.
