Commercial Real Estate.

Representative Work

Lisa's practice focuses on commercial real estate development, including acquisitions, subdivisions, and dispositions of real property, with an emphasis on residential, retail, mixed-use and commercial project development. Lisa has acted as counsel to:

  • developers in connection with strata-titled residential, retail and mixed-use projects, including preparation of disclosure statements and related documentation, including large mixed-use residential and commercial developments in BC, including downtown and west side Vancouver, Coquitlam, Surrey, Pitt Meadows and Victoria, as well as in Scottsdale, Arizona;

  • developers in connection with heritage restoration and redevelopment in downtown Vancouver and Victoria;

  • developers with respect to subdivisions, consolidations, rezoning applications and building and development permit approvals;

  • purchasers and vendors on acquisitions and dispositions, respectively, of development sites, including bare land resort lands, and existing commercial properties, including shopping centres, hotels, restaurants and office space;

  • developers and purchasers in connection with negotiation and preparation of purchase agreements and municipal development agreements, including easements, statutory rights of way and covenants;

  • purchasers with respect to review of and providing reports on title, including zoning issues, and reports with respect to other due diligence matters; and

  • landlords in respect of drafting, negotiation, review and amendment of commercial leases.

Profile

Lisa Hobman is an associate with Clark Wilson LLP and a member of the firm's Commercial Real Estate Practice Group.

Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts at Simon Fraser University and then continued her studies at Dalhousie University, where she obtained her law degree in 2003. She returned to Vancouver to complete her articles with Clark Wilson LLP and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2004.
