Corporate and Personal Tax Planning, Tax Litigation, and International Tax Planning with an emphasis on the establishment of foreign business structures.

Creates and implements efficient corporate structures to minimize tax at both the corporate and shareholder level.

Advises clients on tax related aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Negotiates on behalf of clients with Canada Revenue Agency in dispute resolutions including appeals from reassessments and collection actions.

Appears on behalf of clients before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Canada in respect of income tax appeals, including cases involving claims for scientific research and experimental development tax credits.

Mr. Ruskin is a partner with Clark Wilson LLP and has been a member of the Law Societies of Alberta since 1973 and British Columbia since 1975.

Since 1975, he has practiced exclusively in the area of taxation and has a broad range of experience in tax litigation matters and in the development and implementation of tax plans.

Mr. Ruskin was a member of the Tax Litigation section of the Department of Justice, Vancouver Regional Office, appearing on behalf of the Minister of National Revenue. Before joining Clark Wilson LLP in 1984, he practiced as a tax advisor with a national accounting firm in Calgary, Alberta.

He has been a past speaker at the annual BC Tax Conferences and is a former member of the Taxation Committee of the Law Society of BC.
