Bill Helgason is a member of Clark Wilson LLP’s Executive Committee and is the firm’s Managing Partner. He is also the partner in charge of the firm’s Business Law Department. Mr. Helgason is a member of our Commercial Real Estate, Corporate Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions and Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Groups.

Mr. Helgason represents corporate and institutional clients in a number of industries, including real estate, high-tech, manufacturing, health care, education, food products and clothing. He has extensive experience in a broad range of commercial matters and particularly matters relating to the acquisition, financing and development of real estate, leasing, purchases and sales of businesses (including technology companies), joint ventures and partnerships, and relating to the acquisition, registration, licensing and enforcement of a variety of intellectual property rights in Canada and abroad.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia in 1980 and has been a member of the firm since 1981.
