Michael arms our clients with the knowledge, confidence and tools to capitalize on opportunities. Michael distills the patent system for clients, who are gifted in creating all manner of wonderful innovation, but may have limited exposure to the legal and business implications of IP protection and profit.
This also includes early-stage training for engineers, innovators and other students of technology. Michael developed and instructed a graduate course in IP management and technology commercialization at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Applied Science. Over more than a decade, this course helped to create a pool of entrepreneurial innovators trained to recognize IP commercial opportunities and build IP protection portfolios that support business and market strategy.
Our clients appreciate that Michael has a degree in electrical engineering, because he is able to discern the technical and marketing aspects of inventions and produce patent applications that meet legal requirements and support competition strategies.
To earn patent rights, one must teach the world how to make and use an invention. Michael is passionate about exposing entrepreneurs to IP opportunities and the skills they need to take advantage of them.Download PDF
