We are pleased to announce Pavneet Grewal, Scott Stewart-Lee, and Simon Wu’s promotion from articled students to associates at Clark Wilson.

Pavneet Grewal has joined our Commercial Real Estate group. Pavneet’s practice encompasses a wide range of real estate and corporate legal matters, including residential, retail, office, industrial, hotel, and mixed-use development. She is experienced in drafting land-related agreements such as easements, rights-of-way, and covenants, as well as corporate and commercial agreements, including shareholders’ agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and partnership agreements. Her work also includes the acquisition, sale, and financing of commercial real estate properties, preparing disclosure statements and ensuring compliance with the Real Estate Development Marketing Act, private mortgage loan agreements, due diligence, corporate governance, and contract drafting and review.

Scott Stewart-Lee joins both our Business Litigation and Estates & Trusts practices. In the area of business litigation, Scott handles breach of contract, fraud claims, commercial lease disputes, real estate litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, and appellate advocacy. In his estate litigation practice, Scott provides strategic counsel on wills variation claims, applications to have a document declared a will, abuse of powers of attorney claims, undue influence and incapacity matters, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and related appeals.

Simon Wu has joined our Banking, Insolvency & Restructuring and Business Litigation groups. Simon’s insolvency practice includes matters under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, as well as corporate restructurings, debt insolvency, receiverships, debtor protection, creditors’ rights, and security enforcement. He also advises on litigation arising from bankruptcy, insolvency, and collections, including fraud and conspiracy claims and extraordinary relief such as freezing orders and Anton Piller orders. In general litigation, Simon assists clients with commercial contract disputes, oppression and partnership claims, director and officer liability issues, construction and real estate litigation, lien claims, delay and extras claims, injunctive relief, arbitration, and mediation.
