Profile
Lyall Knott is a senior partner of Clark Wilson LLP's Business Law Group.
He was born and raised in Vancouver and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1971, and Bachelor of Laws degree in 1972, both from the University of British Columbia. He earned a Master of Laws from the University of London, England, in 1973, and in 1985 he was appointed to the rank of Queen's Counsel.
In addition to having a broad base of experience with both public and private corporations, he has an extensive background and understanding of the workings of government.

2009 - President's Strategic Advisory Council, The University of British Columbia
2009 - Appointment to the International Joint Commission as a Canadian Commissioner. The International Joint Commission prevents and resolves disputes between the United States of America and Canada under the 1909 Boundary Waters Treaty and pursues the common good of both countries and is an independent and objective advisor to the two governments.

2000 - The UBC Alumni Association named Lyall Knott as the recipient of the 2000 Blythe Eagles Volunteer Service Award, which is presented annually to a graduate of UBC, in recognition of his contribution of extraordinary time and energy to the Alumni Association.
