Heather Hettiarachchi has been invited to participate as a panelist at the DOXA Documentary Film Festival on Wednesday, May 8. She will be speaking at the screening of “We Are Wisconsin”, a documentary about the massive public protest against Governor Scott Walker’s attempts to do away with collective bargaining rights in the state of Wisconsin in 2011. The film is being presented as part of the Justice Forum, a program that offers the public a means for direct engagement with global justice issues through discussion about the films presented at the festival. As a panelist, Heather will be presenting her views on the film, as well as comparing judicial and governmental attitudinal differences in Canada and the U.S. towards collective bargaining rights and unionized workers.
