Her article, "The purposive interpretation of ’employment’ in statutes" examines recent decisions in which the definition of ’employment’ has been broadly and liberally interpreted by tribunals and courts with the result that companies are required to give certain non-employees the protections that are afforded employees under employment standards, human rights and health and safety laws.
