Effectively navigating these complex and visceral challenges in strata communities requires more than legal expertise — it involves empathy, tact, and pragmatism to identify practical solutions that bring everyone to the table.

Under the guidance of our senior lawyers, Juan Pablo works with clients to understand the problems and uncover their key issues, as well as their desired outcomes. He then works collaboratively with our team to research and develop strategies to meet those goals and present clients with all possible options to make an informed decision.

Reviewing and drafting bylaws and resolutions Reviewing and drafting contracts and agreements, including crane swing and underpinning agreements
Assisting with bylaw enforcement proceedings: levying fines, council hearings, evictions of owners and tenants Attending annual and special general meetings

Defending and prosecuting claims involving strata corporations Representing and helping in Civil Resolution Tribunal matters

Advising on issues arising in bare land strata corporations

While earning his law degree at the University of British Columbia, Juan Pablo was actively involved on campus co-chairing a variety of clubs and initiatives aimed at strengthening diversity and inclusion within the community.

In addition, Juan Pablo’s fluency in Spanish and lifelong interest for learning new languages further strengthens an ingrained importance for considering cultural and community engagement elements. As such, Juan Pablo takes the time to analyze and consider all extenuating factors that can potentially impact a strata community, both now and in the future. This due diligence aids in mitigating potential risks and helps our clients see the bigger picture in managing strata properties.
