Kevin provides legal services to borrowers and lenders in connection with some of British Columbia’s most complex and significant corporate financing matters. This includes the former Expo lands; Vancouver Port Authority; UBC expansion and financing; Park Royal Shopping Centre; Rogers Arena; the acquisition, financing and disposition of the Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver Grizzlies; and financing of the Whistler/Blackcomb expansion and ski resort developments across North America. Kevin acts for various financial institutions, including domestic banks, foreign banks, trust companies, life insurance companies, pension funds and a number of other public and private lenders. He also acts on behalf of several real estate owners and developers.

Kevin’s range of experience working through these complex financings is a resource from which he tailors unique and strategic solutions. He excels at working through difficulties, adding a practical viewpoint and providing workable solutions.
Kevin considers it a privilege to be a lawyer, and with that privilege comes the responsibility to be a positive influence and to give back to both the community and the profession. He has served numerous local charities and organizations throughout his career and continues to serve as a Director of the Canada Basketball Foundation, helping expand opportunities and support for youth and community groups across Canada through safe, inclusive, and accessible basketball programming.
Over his tenure, he has been a tireless advocate and mentor to hundreds of law students and young lawyers, helping them to strengthen their legal practice, navigate the profession and career decisions, and instill the role we all have in giving back. For over 20 years, Kevin ran Clark Wilson’s Student Recruitment Committee, overseeing the articling program and advising on the recruitment and retention of articled students as associates. Kevin is also founder of the Hooplaw Charitable Basketball Tournament, the largest and most successful charitable endeavour within British Columbia’s legal profession, which has raised over $1,900,000 to date for local charities across the province. In recognition of his ongoing service to the community, Kevin was honoured with the Canadian Bar Association’s 2016 Community Supporter Award.
