We’re pleased to share that the three members of Clark Wilson’s esteemed Commercial Real Estate practice, Sarah Jones, Matthew Singerman, and Connor Watt contributed to the latest edition of the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia’s Commercial Leasing: Annotated Precedents (2025 Update), now available here.
Recognized across the province as an indispensable tool for both seasoned practitioners and those new to commercial leasing, this publication provides a deep library of precedent agreements, annotations, and practical commentary. It helps lawyers understand why key clauses exist, anticipate the perspectives of both landlords and tenants, and negotiate with confidence.
The 2025 update brings case law, legislation, and analysis current to August 15, 2025. New features include more than 20 additional cases, a substantially expanded First Nations lease template, added guidance on Competition Act amendments affecting restrictive covenants and exclusive use agreements, and new forms for lease registration.
Sarah, Matthew, and Connor drew on their extensive leasing experience to support this year’s revisions, helping ensure the text continues to reflect the realities of today’s commercial market. Their contributions reinforce Clark Wilson’s commitment to advancing industry best practices and supporting the broader legal community with practical, business-focused insights.
Congratulations to all of the authors and contributors for their addition to legal scholarship!
