It’s a phrase Brent has lived by over his 25 years of experience as a litigator with focuses in commercial real estate, land use and contaminated sites. His innate ability to assess, calculate, and crystallize the best legal position for his clients has led to many of his successes in negotiations and court.

His previous life as an elite-level hockey player instilled in him a commitment to hard work and excellence, which Brent applies daily to his legal practice.

In court, he’s focused on getting the results his clients seek and knows about the dedication needed to get there. He takes pride in sifting through the complexities arising in a client’s case, identifying the central issues in dispute, and mapping out a strategy to efficiently advance his client’s business interests. Brent has acted as trial and appellate counsel in a range of business disputes and regulatory proceedings on behalf of individuals, corporations, and institutional clients. His litigation experience  involves shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate development and land use, misuse of confidential information, energy and natural resources, among others.

He is adept in environmental disputes and contaminated sites law in British Columbia, acting as counsel on several leading contaminated sites cases in the province under the Environmental Management Act.

Brent understands the thorough preparation needed to effectively assert a client’s position. That preparation, combined with utmost skill, ultimately leads to accomplishments.
