Jared is Cree-Métis and is a member of the Kelly Lake Cree Nation.

His personal experiences and heritage allow Jared to deeply understand his client’s needs and provide compassionate service.

Jared assists on a wide range of commercial and environmental matters, major project environmental assessments and negotiations, and general business matters. On every case he works on, Jared begins by thinking of what he’d want for his own First Nation if it were in a similar situation, whether his client be an Indigenous Nation or an industry proponent. This mindset enables Jared to find the most effective solutions for his clients.

Jared’s journey to becoming a lawyer began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. Jared’s studies focused on Indigenous culture and issues. This, together with his own personal and family experiences, inspired him to make a positive difference via the legal profession.

Jared also played hockey for the UBC Thunderbirds during his university years, furthering his understanding that it takes teamwork and communication to achieve an optimal outcome. Jared has carried this lesson into his practice and emphasizes collaboration and clarity in his work.
