As the Director of Legal Talent, Robert is responsible for leading the firm’s efforts to attract, develop, and retain top legal talent. He is responsible for fostering an integrated talent ecosystem for lawyers to grow, thrive, and achieve professional and personal fulfillment in their careers.
Robert joined the firm in 2023 and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from over two decades of progressive experience in executive HR roles and five years of experience as an international employment and labour attorney. This unique background means that Robert appreciates and is well-positioned to anticipate the needs of our legal professionals across all practice areas.
Prior to joining Clark Wilson, Robert worked with numerous organizations across industries and around the globe focusing on building and developing human capital. His industry experience includes airlines, banking, construction, crown corporations, education, healthcare, real estate, retail, technology, and tourism. Over his career, Robert has managed teams in 35 different countries, which has given him invaluable first-hand experience in developing intercultural competency skills to work effectively with diverse groups.
As an advocate for lifelong learning and education, Robert has taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in negotiation and mediation, change management and organizational development, as well as various HR courses at Tulane University, the S.P. Jain School of Management, and the University of Saskatchewan. Robert is a frequent keynote speaker at HR, technology, change management and business transformation conferences.
Robert is an alumnus of Tulane University, where he earned his Juris Doctor cum laude in Civil and Common Law, and the Vlerick Business School, where he holds an MBA in International Business, with distinction. Additionally, Robert is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Sciences cum laude in International Politics.
