On April 21, 2020, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) would begin receiving applications from employers for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy on Monday, April 27, 2020.  Applications are to be received through the CRA’s My Business Account portal or by separate application to be made available on April 27.

No details were released about when businesses can expect payments after making their applications.

An additional calculator tool has been added to the CRA’s website to assist businesses in determining how much they may receive under the subsidy.
