“It’s complicated to make things simple.” As head of our innovation program and practicing lawyer, no one quite understands this phrase better than Victor.

After five years of working as a lawyer in our Capital Markets, Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions Group, Victor’s passion for improving technology and efficiency led him to the role of Clark Wilson’s first Innovation Lawyer.

With an educational background in both science and law, he is uniquely placed to bridge the gap between legal needs and IT solutions. Victor uses the scientific method to analyze pain points for both lawyers and clients, and develop elegant, user-centric solutions.

His work involves the conceptualization, simplification and project management of many in-house innovation projects, including developing online client portals, implementing automation systems, researching and evaluating new software, knowledge management, and establishing collaborative online working environments.

By developing different ways for our lawyers to deliver services, Victor is helping to improve efficiency, reduce time and resources spent on tedious administrative tasks, minimize risk, improve collaboration and make the firm more competitive. Ultimately, this saves our clients’ money, secures and simplifies their record keeping, and improves their overall experience.

Victor is also applying his special skill set to advance his own client’s interests. By maintaining his status as a practicing lawyer within our Technology Transactions Group, Victor is able to stay on top of industry advancements, while helping to unravel legal complexities and provide practical solutions for clients using blockchain technology to disrupt existing industries.
