Federal Government Increases Wage Subsidy for Employers

On March 27, 2020, Justin Trudeau announced an increase from the previously announced temporary wage subsidy program for small to medium-sized employers.  The previous program covered up to 10% of payroll to a maximum of $25,000.  The increase will cover up to 75% of payroll.  Trudeau stated eligibility details, including any applicable maximums, will be released by March 30, 2020.  The new program will also be retroactive to March 15.
